 What is Computer Virus ?

A computer virus is a malicious programs in which computer operates the data or information without the permission of user. A virus attaches itself to program or files and then copy itself. 

A virus just display a funny message or something and damaging the hard disk contents. 

 

Types of Computer Virus 

A computer virus is one types of Malware that inserts its virus code to multiply itself by altering the programs and application. The computer gets infected through the replication of malicious code.

1. Boot Sector Virus

5. Polymorphic Virus

These type of viruses are difficult to identify with a traditional antivirus program.

6. Over  write Virus

This types of Virus deletes all the files of computer.

7. Space filler Virus

This is also called "Cavity Virus" because it fill up the empty spaces between the code but it does not cause any damage to the files.

8. File Infector

Few files infector Viruses come attached with programs files such as .com or.exe files.

Some file infector Viruses infect any programs for which execution is requested, including .sys, .ovl, .prg and .mnu files. 

9. Marco Files

This Virus target marco languages commanders application like Microsoft word.
